What the mechanic typically assesses and replaces
Suspension diagnosis is largely physical: load the joints, listen, and look for play. Common on-site work includes:
- Shock absorbers and coil springs
- Anti-roll bar drop links — a very frequent cause of light knocking
- Wishbones, control arms and suspension bushes
- Track rod ends and steering rack gaiters
- Wheel bearings and hub assemblies
- Top mounts and strut bearings
