Mobile mechanic

Mobile mechanic in London

A mobile mechanic is exactly what it sounds like: instead of you getting the car to a garage, the mechanic comes to the car. Rolling Mechanics is a booking and introduction service — you tell us where you are and what the car is doing, and we arrange an experienced independent mobile mechanic to attend.

We arrange call-outs across Greater London — anywhere inside the M25, and a little beyond if you ask. That covers the roadside, your driveway, a residential street, a workplace car park or a supermarket bay, as long as the vehicle can be worked on safely.

We'll either get you back on the road, or our experienced mechanics will give you a solution.

Anywhere within the M25 — and if you're a little bit outside it, we'll still make the effort to reach you.

When a mobile mechanic makes sense

  • The car won't start and you can't get it to a garage
  • A warning light has appeared and you want to know how serious it is before driving
  • You've broken down at the roadside or in a car park
  • You need routine work done and can't spare a day without the car
  • You want a second opinion on a quote you've been given
  • The car is off the road at home and you'd rather it was looked at where it stands

What the visiting mechanic can typically do

Vans carry diagnostic equipment, hand tools and commonly needed parts, so a lot of everyday work can be completed where the car sits. Typical on-site work includes:

  • Reading and interpreting fault codes across engine, ABS, airbag and transmission systems
  • Battery testing, jump starting and battery replacement
  • Brake pads, discs and brake fluid
  • Interim and full servicing — oil, filters, plugs and a visual inspection
  • Suspension and steering components such as shocks, springs, bushes and track rod ends
  • Cooling system faults, leaks, hoses, thermostats and water pumps
  • Lighting, sensor and general electrical fault finding

How a call-out works

Call or WhatsApp us, or send the request form with your location — you can share a map pin straight from your phone. We match you with a mechanic, confirm the plan with you, and take a deposit to secure the visit. The balance for the work is settled directly with the mechanic who attends.

Who actually does the work

Rolling Mechanics is a trading name of Symatec Ltd. We introduce customers to independent, self-employed mobile mechanics; the repair agreement is between you and the mechanic who attends. That's set out plainly in our terms, and we'd rather you knew up front.

When a workshop or recovery is still the right call

Some jobs genuinely need a ramp, a lift, specialist tooling or a controlled workshop environment — clutch and gearbox work, major internal engine repairs, welding, tyre machines and wheel alignment among them. Safety and space matter too: a busy dual carriageway, a red route or a tight multi-storey may not be a safe place to work. If that's the situation, the mechanic will tell you straight and point you toward recovery or a workshop rather than starting something that can't be finished properly.

We'll either get you back on the road, or our experienced mechanics will give you a solution.
